The Taking of Innocent Lives

June 30, 2008 at 1:06 pm (Abortion, planned parenthood)

Sometimes I am a little slow on the uptake.

Over the last couple of days I have been really stuck on the taking of the innocent lives of the unborn. Now I know I have heard this statement said in a thousand different ways, but have never been touched by the words the way I have this past weekend.

Here is what has been haunting me. A child in a woman’s womb is about as innocent as you can get. I mean the only thing they have done is become a life, and that was not by a choice the child made, but rather by a choice the mother and father made.

So after the fact, when a woman decides to step into an abortion clinic and remove that life from their body, she are making a conscious decision to end the life of an innocent child. A child, whose only action in its time of existence was to start growing in the body of the wrong woman.

Think about his a minute, if a drunk driver hit’s and kills a young child we as a society would throw the book at him. If a man rapes and kills a small child we look for the death penalty. So why then is it so ok in America for a woman to choose to take the life of a child who is more innocent then my 3 month old daughter? Then she can go out and higher someone to do the job for her. It’s no different then having a hit man on your payroll, except that these victims can’t fight back.

Why is it ok for Planned Parenthood to not inform these women of what they are really doing?

Why is it ok for a Doctor to fly into our state a few days a week for not other reason then to intentionally take a life and then hop on a plane and fly right back home?

I don’t know where this is going today. I feel frustrated and angry that this still goes on in the world.

All I really want to say is the Child in the womb has not done anything to deserve what happens behind the walls of a place like Planned Parenthood. A woman who would use the services of Planed Parenthood in South Dakota is only doing so because she is unwilling to share 9 months of her life with another human being. After nine months she can walk away from the child with no questions asked. I am sure plenty of people will say that there is medical need, or rape and incest or what ever. I say then go see a real Doctor at a real hospital. One who lives in your community, one who will be there tomorrow, one that will be around in a year. A Doctor who is accountable for their actions, and is willing to maintain a Doctor Patent relationship. Planned Parenthood is CHEAP UNACCOUNTABLE BIRTH CONTROL, and nothing more.

Revelations

June 26, 2008 at 1:49 pm (Bible, Christ and the Bible, Faith, God, House of Prayer, Intercession, Jesus, Life, Prayer)

Revelation 8:1

When he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.

I love the mental picture this gives me. I just imagine Jesus breaking the seal as angels and saint’s watch, each one waiting to see what’s next.

We have all had moments like that in our life. They are almost physically painful to live through. Sometimes it’s excitement, others just anticipation and maybe even fear. In this case it seems like the silence before the storm.

What ever God has in store for me today, I will wait in silent anticipation, knowing that when it’s all said and done I will love him more then I did yesterday.

I love God

June 23, 2008 at 4:47 pm (Bible, Christ and the Bible, Faith, God, House of Prayer, Jesus, Life, Prayer) ()

Matthew 4:4

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.

In a round about way I came across this verse today, and it really struck me that Jesus said we live on “every word that comes from Gods mouth”.

He didn’t say every word that CAME from…

And he didn’t say every word from Gods mouth that is recorded in the bible.

He also didn’t say we live BY the word.

He did say “on every word that comes from the mouth of God”

The idea here is that Jesus answered in the current tense. That along with that fact that God never changes leads me to believe that Gods voice can still be heard today.

This is a simple explanation, but it seems to hit home today.

Wrestling with God

June 18, 2008 at 1:27 pm (Bible, Christ and the Bible, Faith, God, House of Prayer, Intercession, Jesus, Life, Prayer)

Jacob Wrestles With God

That night Jacob got up and took his two wives, his two maidservants and his eleven sons and crossed the ford of the Jabbok. After he had sent them across the stream, he sent over all his possessions. So Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak. When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob’s hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man. Then the man said, “Let me go, for it is daybreak.”
But Jacob replied, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.”

The man asked him, “What is your name?”
“Jacob,” he answered.

Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with men and have overcome.”

Jacob said, “Please tell me your name.”
But he replied, “Why do you ask my name?” Then he blessed him there.

So Jacob called the place Peniel, saying, “It is because I saw God face to face, and yet my life was spared.”

The sun rose above him as he passed Peniel, and he was limping because of his hip. Therefore to this day the Israelites do not eat the tendon attached to the socket of the hip, because the socket of Jacob’s hip was touched near the tendon.

I feel that this verse will bless someone today. Because today is a test from the Lord to see how much you desire him, how far you are willing to go for him, how much you will endure for him. Today keep in mind that not all struggles are against the enemy, some are against God because he desires us to stand firm in our faith and is willing to test that, not for his knowledge because he already knows how far we will go, but for our own understanding. How much deeper will you be rooted in the Lord if you can stand up and say I wrestled with God and lived to tell you about it. Look, here are my scars to prove it.

<!–[if !supportEmptyParas]–> For anyone who has ever wrestled another man you know 3 minutes is a killer, imagine wrestling with God, all through the night. When he tells you to stop you say no, not until I receive my portion. That is the desire God wants to see in us.

I pray today that God blesses you with the desire, and strength to carry on through the night, and the faith that when the sun rises you will be blessed with all of his Glory.

Todd Bentley – I am such a glutton for punishment…

June 16, 2008 at 8:14 pm (Bible, Christ and the Bible, Faith, God, House of Prayer, Intercession, Jesus, Life, Prayer)

So I have been following the Florida Outpouring for a while now. I don’t watch everyday, and I have not been there yet. I have also read some of his writings, and listened to some of his teachings prior to the outpouring.

I will say I do believe in most of what Todd teaches. I will also say that he is a man and capable of mistakes. Any questions a person has on his, or anyone else’s teachings should be confirmed or discredited by studying the word of God.

Now to the point… I jumped out to google today and did a search for Todd Bentley and was scanning through some of the hits and I read of the negative feedback to see what all the hype is about. I was amazed at how willing some of these folks are to cut down a child of God with no biblical reference what so ever. They are simply out there ranting against something they are not fully informed on. Reports of Todd kicking a lady in the face, yet the testimony says that boot never touched her, she went out under the spirit before he could make contact. I promise had leather actually met flesh there would have been headlines all over the country, but as it seems a spiritual encounter the press has no interest.

I n Genesis 22 we hear the story of Abraham and Isaac. I don’t hear anyone casting blame on Abraham for his willingness to sacrifice Isaac in the mountain… Do you think anyone else heard the voice when God told Abraham what he wanted done?

Hebrews 13:8 says “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever”. I believe God still moves in the world today, and it is not hard for me to believe the God of Abraham and Isaac would command his faithful to do something that the rest of the world might question.

I find it a good idea in my life to concentrate on worshiping God and studying the Word, not visa versa.

To the Church in Philadelphia

June 13, 2008 at 1:26 pm (Bible, Christ and the Bible, Faith, God, House of Prayer, Jesus, Life, Prayer)

To the Church in Philadelphia

7“To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write:
These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. 8I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. 9I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liars—I will make them come and fall down at your feet and acknowledge that I have loved you. 10Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth. 11I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. 12Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on him my new name. 13He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Reading from Revelation today I was caught up in this section. I will go through each point that stands out and why.

For off, “To the angel of the church…” To every church that God speaks to here he speaks through his angels, or messengers. Why does this strike me? Well it tells me that we as a church have an angle assigned to us who acts as a messenger to and from God. A direct conduit so that he can hear the cries of the faithful.

Next “Who holds the Key of David” - It goes on from there to say “What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open”. As if David is a doorway. I take this to mean that we can learn from David how to reach the father. David got it right when it came to pursuing God. He was human and made mistakes but he still loved the lord and we should follow that example.

“I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut” There is an open door before us… What’s on the other side? God has opened that door for you to step through, no matter what you do that door will not shut until he says it’s time.

Are you willing to take that step?

Going Deeper

June 12, 2008 at 12:39 pm (Bible, Christ and the Bible, Faith, God, House of Prayer, Jesus, Life, Prayer)

If there was ever a day specified to go deeper, today is the day, I feel it inside of me.

I encourage anyone who reads this to encourage everyone they encounter today to press deeper into the lord.

The well of our Lord Jesus Christ is bottomless; no matter how hard you try you will never reach the end. But with every inch you gain the glory will rest on you that much more.

In the physical the clouds are supposed to gather throughout the day and build into a storm. I say by the hand of God there is also a spiritual gathering; the glory cloud is building now, as we speak.

Press in my people, press in and seek the face of God. He is right here longing for you to just turn and look for him. His love is bursting out and his heart weeps for every moment spent without you.

You have only to ask and the spirit will fill you, overflow and permeate every cell in your body.

The veil is thin, it would take but a whisper and you would experience the spiritual realm as never before.

May God bless each and everyone one of you

Jeremy
