A dove with an olive branch

Genesis 8:11
When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf

In Pastor Steve’s message this weekend he mentioned the Dove returning to the ark with an olive branch.

This is describs as a sign of dry ground but when hearing the words I had a slightly deeper understanding.

Yes it does signify that there is dry ground, but it also signifies fertile ground, ground that is able to support life.

Good soil on which God has already planted seed the seed of an olive tree, and soil on which he desires to plant man, to seed the rest of the earth.

It seems like there is more to the message in that little symbolism then I have ever really understood before.
