God’s place in my life

October 23, 2008 at 7:40 pm (Uncategorized)

So I am reading this little book right now called “The Shack” and am really enjoying it.

I came across a little nugget today that I think I am going to soak in for a bit, but wanted to share it as well.

It talked about if you place all the things in your life into a pyramid where would God be in that design? My first thought, and the book also stated putting God on top. But I immediately, before reading any further, had another thought. Where does leave my foundation? So I take God off the top and put him at the bottom, etc. etc. Well it just went on from there and became somewhat of a jumbled through process. The book, as well as past teachings told me that Gods desire is to be in every aspect of our lives.

I believe that if he is not in every aspect that those portions of our lives are “of this world”.

Anyway, just my through for the day.

Tony Dean

October 20, 2008 at 2:48 pm (Life)

We lost a dear man this past weekend. A man to earned my respect over the years by standing strong and fighting for what he believed in. Who, when you would hear him speak made me feel as if he was speaking directly to me, either through TV or Radio.

He was a man who in no small way contributed to my understanding and love of Hunting, Fishing and the Great Outdoors.

Also a man, who when I would see him fishing on the Missouri River would always bring back memories of fishing with my Grandpa as a young boy. They shared the same weathered skin and wrinkles around the eyes from squinting into the sun on the water for to many hours over their lifetime.

I pray that God has accepted Tony Dean into his loving arms, and that he may now rest knowing that he has done all he was able to do to the very end of his days here on earth.

Abortion as Birth Control

October 15, 2008 at 4:54 pm (Abortion, Life)

Ok, so this thought hit me last night while posting on another blog.

Speaking on the issue of abortion used as birth control in South Dakota.

Now the Pro Abortion side of the debate likes to fall back on the argument sexual education needs to be improved. That will be the ticket to stopping all these unwanted pregnancies.

Let me just say that women, and men for that matter, who support IM11 don’t seem to have a problem with Sexual Education. They seem to fully understand the consequences of having sex, and they are willing to make a minimum of a 9 month sacrifice, if not a lifetime for the few minutes it took to create that baby. They also seem to be better educated on the value of life then the pro abortion camp. Sure they are unwanted pregnancies in our church, but these ladies know the value of life and are willing to allow that child to have a life.

So it seems that the folks in need to better sex ed are the same people who would seek out the services of planned parenthood. Maybe if these people would attempt to instill some real family values in there children, teach them that life is not about self gratification, but rather about living life as a responsible member of society. It’s not always about what is best for you, but what you can do to better the life of those in your circle of influence.

Let me tell you that abortion does not improve the live if the unborn child within that circle.

99% of the time abortion is a lazy way to forget about the consequences of your actions.

This whole bigger picture thing is really starting to piss me off. If you don’t want a baby keep your pants on. If they just happen to fall of and you get pregnant carry the child to term and put it up for adoption. There are even groups out there they will help the woman take care of her needs through the entire pregnancy.

If you are one of the very few people who has medical need to abort the child, then I pray for your mental and physical health. I also pray for that child, even though circumstances were beyond control.

Sorry for the rant, but sometimes we just need to say what’s on our mind, and this being my blog, seems like the right place to do that.

1 Samuel 3:1

October 14, 2008 at 3:23 pm (Uncategorized)

The boy Samuel ministered before the LORD under Eli. In those days the word of the LORD was rare; there were not many visions.

I wonder if people back in Samuel’s child hood years thought the “Word lf the LORD, and/or visions were for the messianic times?

He’s killing me

October 6, 2008 at 3:42 pm (Life) (, , , )

So I walk by the local campaign office for Barack Obama every morning. Today this tee-shirt caught my eye.

I thought you’re stinking right I have hope…  I can promise that my hope is not in the Thin Man and I will not be casting my vote in that direction.

In case your not aware my hope is in the Lord, and I believe his choice would be John McCain. In light of the current financial situation I find it hard to believe that anyone would consider an unsubstantiated infant senitor like Obama as the best choice for presidant. Obama who wants to pull our troops out before the job is done. Obama who believes that the best option for someone who didn’t pull out in time is to bash the result in the head and forget about it so as to not be an inconvience. Obama who selected a VP candidate who is to old to accuratly remember facts about his compitetion.

Love Letter II

October 6, 2008 at 2:51 am (Love Letter)

As long as the waves roll into shore

As long as the wind blows across the South Dakota prairie

As long as the moon chases the sun

As long as my spirit defines the essence of who I am

As long as snow is white, grass is green and rain is wet

As long as I have a heart it will belong to you

As long as I have a hand it is yours to hold

As long as I have arms they are yours to snuggle into

As long as I have love it is yours, given feely and fully…

I love you dear
